Meet Our Founders
Scott C. Pappas, Esq., Chief Executive Officer & Founder
Scott's story begins in 2012 when he and Autism Behavioral Wellness co-Founder, Josephine Burkhardt, started Autism Behavioral Services. Our goal was simple, to provide ASD children and families with those skills to help improve their quality of life. As an attorney, Scott began this journey by helping families navigate insurance coverage issues to help families obtain insurance coverage for much needed behavioral services. Working with those families revealed a critical need in the community.
In 2022, we doubled down on our focus of helping families develop those skills to help improve their quality of life. By focusing on issues relating to nutrition, preventative healthcare and physical activity, our efforts are designed to help people develop long-term healthy behaviors.
Scott lives in Old Bridge, New Jersey with his wife Angela, sons Zachary and Christopher, and ABW mascot, Jackson.
Josephine Burkhardt, Chief Development Officer & Founder
Josephine Burkhardt started Autism Behavioral Services in 2012 with co-founder Scott Pappas. Josephine is committed to providing high-quality, affordable ABA therapy to the autistic community. She is passionate about making our service as accessible as possible. In 2022, Josephine relaunched Autism Behavioral Wellness. With an enhanced focus on wellness, Josephine remains committed to ensuring our service remains accessible. Josephine is an advocate for ABA therapy and works with clients to help them get the support they need. As the Chief Development Officer of Autism Behavioral Wellness, Josephine is primarily focused on employee recruitment and client development.
